Travel Blog - Day Six

July 5th, 2013

The last day of the seminar featured a conversation with Khaled Abu Toameh, Palestinian Affairs reporter for The Jerusalem Post newspaper. Khaled provided an important overview of yet another viewpoint on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, issues facing the region overall, and a robust question and answer session.

The delegation then proceeded to an in-depth tour of The Israel Museum, with greetings from James Snyder, Director of the Museum, and a guided tour from a museum docent.

Finally, the delegation participated in a three hour walking tour of Jerusalem’s Old City. To quote one of the participants, “To understand any country or culture, you need to understand the geography. Everywhere you turn in the Old City of Jerusalem, you encounter another religion, another culture. That spoke volumes to me about the Israel experience.”
