African American Clergy - July 2009

This seminar included ten of America’s most influential young African-American Christian leaders. The group, representing Baptist, African Methodist Episcopal (AME), and United Church of Christ congregations, encountered various features of Israeli culture and society, visited several Christian holy sites, and engaged with Palestinians from both Israel and the West Bank. The group was escorted by Rabbi Gary Greenebaum, who, throughout the trip, underscored the role of religion in peacemaking and relations between the US and Israel.
